The Dempster Highway is known to take down tires, so much so that people strap 4 sets of spare tires to their Subaru. These vintage Falken Wildpeaks that I got from the donor 1984 Dodge Ramcharger did the job perfectly. My windshield is the only one that took an L on the Dempster.
Successfully made it to the Arctic Ocean
The weather started rolling through so I decided it was time for me to leave. The winds picked up to 90mph with gusts to 110mph. The road was very muddy so the wind would pick up my front tires and slide it sideway. If the van wasn't so damn heavy, I think it would have flipped. I ducked behind a shallow hill to secure everything on the roof. Here I spotted an oncoming car and I got a weather report that the next 15 miles were going to be the same but then it will die off. I pushed through the storm slowly until I got to the volcanic section of the arctic which had better coverage from the wind.
